MACBA – Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona

Opened in 1995 in a building by the American architect Richard Meier, MACBA is Barcelona's main museum of contemporary art, with a collection centred on the second half of the 20th century and the present, including the Rafael Tous Fond of Conceptual art. Its programme mixes rotating displays of the collection with temporary solo shows, film and sound, backed by a research centre, library and archive in the neighbouring Convent dels Àngels. Expansion works on Plaça dels Àngels run until February 2027, but the museum stays open with its usual entrance.
