The Barcelona History Museum's Plaça del Rei headquarters, the museum's founding core since 1943, sits in a monumental medieval complex in the Gothic Quarter. Below ground, visitors walk the streets of Roman Barcino past the city wall, workshops such as a 2nd-century laundry and dye house, a fish-salting factory and a winery, and the remains of the early Christian episcopal complex. Above ground are the Palau Reial Major, the 14th-century Saló del Tinell and the Chapel of Santa Àgata with Jaume Huguet's altarpiece, while the Gothic Casa Padellàs houses the synthesis exhibition 'Barcelona Flashback'. MUHBA also runs a network of other heritage sites across the city, including the Temple of Augustus, El Call, the Refugi 307 air-raid shelter, the Turó de la Rovira bunkers and El Born.
