Founded by developer Minoru Mori and opened in 2003, the Mori Art Museum occupies the top floors of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, 53 storeys above the city. It stages large-scale international contemporary art exhibitions alongside rotating showcases of its own collection (MAM Collection, MAM Screen, MAM Research), with a strong focus on artists from Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. Unusually among major Tokyo museums, it stays open until 22:00 most nights, drawing a large share of evening visitors.
