Viking Life with Halvdan and Meia

Now showing21 February 2026 – 1 November 2026·kr 180

A play Viking village for preschoolers: a chieftain's house, forge, farm animals and a Viking ship, based on Martin Widmark's Halvdan Viking books.

Book tickets

You come in along the jetties, where a Viking ship is moored and open for boarding. Behind a palisade sits a small village of six cabins: a chieftain's house, a forge, a sacrificial house, a bakehouse, a barn and a weaving cottage. Every one is open for play, and there are animals on the farm to pet.

The village is a touring play exhibition built in 2022 by Barnutställningar, based on Martin Widmark and Mats Vänehem's Halvdan Viking books, and it is aimed at preschoolers. The makers also added Kata's grave with its runestone, modelled on the burial site at Varnhem in Västergötland. Of all the jetties in Stockholm, these are the ones where you can let a three-year-old run flat out.

It closes on 1 November. Under-19s get in free, adults pay the 180 SEK museum ticket, and no booking is needed. It sits next to The Viking World, prams are allowed, and there's a lunchroom with a microwave for packed lunches.
