The title comes from a medieval lawsuit against worms. Authorities near Lausanne charged a species of worm with destroying peasants' crops, and a sentence read out in the fields ordered the worms and their leader to leave within six days. Gina Proenza took the phrase for a work, and the Palais took it from her.

The gangs here are collectives, a group of high-school students, choirs, and communities that live, work or campaign together. You walk into work by 22 artists and collectives who all chose to be based away from cities: Limousin, the Cévennes, Corsica, Guadeloupe, the Basque Country. The worms got six days' notice. Every Parisian who has announced a move to the Cévennes has had longer.

It opens on 21 October, so no reviews yet. Entry is free without booking on 21 October (noon to 10pm) and 22 October (noon to 5pm). After that the €13 ticket (€9 reduced, free under 18) covers every show. Closed Tuesdays, open until midnight on Thursdays.

Look for

  • Gina Proenza, Toi et ta bande

The work that gives the show its title and its lead image; when shown at Treignac Projet in 2025 it was made of barley and wheat straw and plexiglass.

  • Marine Peixoto, Sans titre (Cévennes, Mont-Lozère)

Look for photographs from Mont Lozère in the Cévennes, part of an ongoing series backed by France's national grant for documentary photography.
