EVERYDAY CLOTHES
A family-oriented show for young visitors, staged in dialogue with PENN & FASHION, exploring what everyday clothing — creases, stains, mends, signs of wear — reveals about the people who wore it, drawn from the MEP's collections.

The MEP's text for this show talks straight to the child: who is wearing these clothes, where is the person, what can you guess about their life, and why did the photographer choose to show this item? The clues are creases, stains, holes, mends and signs of wear.
This is the Petite Galerie, the MEP's space for young visitors and families, hung with pictures from the museum's own collection by August Sander, Ralph Gibson, Despatin & Gobeli, Albrecht Tübke and Xavier Zimmermann. It is built as a reply to PENN & FASHION, where the clothes are staged to create a style or a dream. You go from Penn's Dior and Balenciaga to clothes that have actually been lived in. By the Toussaint holidays, the knees of your child's rentrée jeans will qualify.
It comes with the MEP ticket: €13 on site, €14 online, free for under-12s. Family guided tours cost €15 per adult and €5 per child, and Thursdays run late.
