Lafayette Anticipations - Fondation Galeries Lafayette

ArtDesignArchitectureClosed todayFreeRambuteau (Metro 11)

Lafayette Anticipations is the contemporary art foundation of the Galeries Lafayette group, opened in 2018 in a 19th-century industrial building in Le Marais transformed by Rem Koolhaas and OMA. Its signature feature is a 19-metre glass-and-steel tower of motorized exhibition platforms that can be reconfigured in 49 different ways. A production-driven kunsthalle rather than a collecting museum, it commissions and shows new work across contemporary art, design and fashion. Entry to the exhibitions is free, alongside a programme of performances, talks, an on-site fabrication workshop, a bookshop and the Pluto cafe-restaurant.
