More in Berlin

Carola Lampe started this series at the end of 2019, about three years before ChatGPT made AI images everybody's business. She works as a software developer, and she still made most of it with a camera: street photographs first, then small sets built in her studio and shot to look computer-generated, then AI images, 3D screenshots and Photoshop edits.

All three kinds hang together in the graffiti hall, the room Fotografiska gives its Emerging Berlin solo shows. Lampe says some of the AI images give themselves away if you look closely and some don't. That is the plan: you stand in front of a picture without knowing what you're looking at. Her targets are filter bubbles, surveillance and who decides what you see.

It closes on 31 October. Entry is €15, or €10 for 25 and under, students and over-65s, and covers every show in the building, open daily until 23:00 (last entry 22:00). On Tuesdays from 18:00, online tickets are two for one.
