iBode-Museum
Built 1898–1904 to designs by Ernst von Ihne as the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum, the domed Bode-Museum rises straight out of the Spree at the northern tip of Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It houses the Skulpturensammlung, the Museum für Byzantinische Kunst and the Münzkabinett, one of the world's largest coin collections with more than 500,000 objects, alongside paintings from the Gemäldegalerie. The entrance is via the Monbijou Bridge.
