Opened in 1963, the Museu Picasso holds more than 4,000 works by Pablo Picasso and traces his lifelong bond with Barcelona, where he spent his formative teenage years. The collection is richest in his early work, including the academic showpiece Science and Charity (1897), and holds the 1957 Las Meninas series that Picasso himself donated. It occupies five adjoining medieval palaces on Carrer Montcada in La Ribera.
