Preview: written before the show opened

This is the show that opens Barcelona's first Digital Arts Biennial, which the city plans to hold every two years, with the DHub at Glòries as its main venue. The artist list and the works had not been published by mid-October.

Curator Irma Vilà i Òdena built it around a generation of artists who work with computational technologies, alongside the earlier references that led them here. The museum names the threads: living with machines and non-human species, a critique of the invisible infrastructure behind the digital world, generative art, work that mixes the physical and the digital, and live creation.

If you want the argument as well as the art, the Biennial's symposium on art, technology, science and digital culture runs in the same building on 3 and 4 February 2027, followed on 5 February by the Circuit, a meeting day for the sector.
