The Albertina is one of the world's great print rooms, founded by Duke Albert of Saxe-Teschen in 1776 and holding around 65,000 drawings and a million old master prints, from Dürer's Young Hare to Leonardo. Its palace on the old Augustinian bastion also houses 20 restored Habsburg State Rooms and the Batliner Collection of modern art from Monet to Picasso. Major temporary exhibitions of drawing, painting and photography run year-round.
