"Hey, I want to kick my leg up in the air just to see if I can do it." Sabrina Vachon trained in competitive, rigid dance, and in the interview Gallery 44 published with this show she says that same urge drives her drawing and video editing. For Mole Removal she carved wood plates and stamped them onto fabric, and felt the pushing and pulling as movement.

Vachon, a McMaster undergraduate, looks at the gap between how you see yourself and how you're seen somewhere unfamiliar: beauty standards, out-of-body experiences, a self in pieces. The gallery leads with a still from her 2024 video Love You Forever. Most of her work uses her own body, and she says watching hours of herself dancing takes a kind of dissociation she doesn't think is all bad.
