Next to Moriyama's 1982 Light and Shadow pictures, the students have laid out prints, frames and magnifying loupes. You lean in with a loupe, which is the point: the room is their attempt to rebuild what Moriyama saw and felt in his body while he was shooting.

About 140 gelatin silver prints from the museum's own Moriyama holdings fill the basement gallery, picked and arranged by engineering students from Nara Women's University. It tours from a 2025 show they made in Nara, with more Tokyo prints added: Poster (Nakano) from the Tokyo series, Dog of Misawa (1971), and street titles like Shinjuku, Aoyama and Tachikawa. Copy/Scatter splits photographs across several surfaces to show a picture being printed, copied and used up.

No critic has reviewed it yet. Part of the show is online: a 3D city model on the ToMuCo site drops you onto the spots he shot. Entry is free, it's on B1F, Thursday and Friday run to 20:00, and it closes 18 October.
