Konsthantverkarna marks 75 years with contemporary glass, ceramics, textiles and metalwork placed among the palace's state rooms.
In the count's wastepaper basket at Hamngatan 4 lies the last rubbish he threw away before he died, and the saucepans still stand on their shelves in the kitchen. Into that stopped clock of a house, the craft cooperative Konsthantverkarna has moved new work for its 75th birthday.
You walk through the state apartment and the members' pieces sit among the furniture: glass, ceramics, wood, paper, metal, jewellery, textiles and concrete. Each answers something specific: the house, a single building detail, the von Hallwyl family or the countess's collections. Some of these rooms were built around 16th-century Belgian tapestries she bought.
On weekends several of the makers are in the rooms to talk about their work. Pieces can be bought through Konsthantverkarna's website, and the show's book is in the museum shop. Entry is the SEK 150 museum ticket, free under 18, bought at the door, and Wednesdays run until 19:00. It's stairs only, and coats and backpacks go in the lockers. It closes 1 November.
You can't manage stairs: the show is up in the state apartment and the museum has no lift.
Under-18s go free. Strollers aren't allowed inside; the nearest place to lock one is Norrmalmstorg.
