Harder Better Faster Stronger: Are Men OK?

Now showing3 October 2026 – 7 February 2027·kr 195

30 photographers explore modern and future masculinity in a digital culture.

In Sara Sadik's film, a 20-year-old man sets out to become his best self inside a modified version of Grand Theft Auto V. The body on screen is muscular and digital. The voice over it is a poetic monologue about love and insecurity.

That gap between the pose and the feeling runs through the show. Thirty artists work in photography, film and sculpture, on subjects from looksmaxxing and bar fights to paternity leave and wrestling. Johan Bävman photographs Swedish fathers who took at least six months of parental leave, and finds masculinity in presence, patience and care. The curators say they want to show how contradictory, changeable and human masculinity can be. No reviews had been published when this was written.

Entry is included in the 195 SEK museum ticket, and Fotografiska is open until 23:00 every day. Looksmaxxing is in the show, so if your feed has ever sent you jawline advice on the T-bana to Slussen, you'll recognise the subject.
