Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD)

ArtHistoryClosed todayFrom $15Montgomery St (BART / Muni Metro)

Founded in 2005, MoAD fills the lower floors of the St. Regis tower at Mission and Third, steps from Yerba Buena Gardens and SFMOMA. It has no permanent collection; instead it works directly with living artists and curators on rotating contemporary art exhibitions exploring Black cultures across the globe. Its signature three-storey photomosaic, The Face of the African Diaspora, rises alongside the main staircase.
