iThe Historical Building is the ornate, dome-topped headquarters of the National Museum, built by Josef Schulz between 1885 and 1891 and reopened in 2018 after major restoration. Inside, sweeping marble staircases and a Pantheon hall lead to natural-history halls (minerals, fossils, evolution, a fin whale skeleton) and a long-term exhibition tracing Czech history from the 8th century to WWI. A rotating programme of temporary exhibitions also runs through its halls.

The museum's most beautiful and unusual minerals, plus meteorites, tektites and impactites, with a look at mineral fluorescence.

Long-term exhibition across seven halls tracing Czech lands from the 8th century to WWI through 2,000 artifacts, interactive displays and VR.

Four halls of 2,000 fossils from the Paleozoic to Quaternary, with life-size dinosaur models, the world's oldest land plant and a woolly rhino skeleton.

A behind-the-scenes look at how the National Museum works, from basement foundations to the dome, in period cabinets designed by Josef Schulz.

Natural-science exhibition across 2,000 sq m and seven halls, with 1,500 specimens including a 22.5m fin whale skeleton exploring evolutionary diversity.
