Ioana Vreme Moser recorded her own voice onto old EPROM memory chips, then set them under artificial light. The light slowly wipes the data, so the voice distorts, dissolves into digital noise and finally goes silent. Mineral Amnesia won an Award of Distinction at Prix Ars Electronica in 2025, and it sums up the show: the minerals inside the machines we use to see and measure the world.

Ten artists and duos fill the House of Photography with video essays and installations. The first part questions measurement itself: Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner's 40-minute film Constant traces a calculation error still built into the metre. The second turns to materials, including Susan Schuppli's video of a camera chip in an Arctic winter. On each floor you walk around four hemispheres, past captions shaped like surveyors' marks.

Bring patience for essay films. Tickets are CZK 150 (CZK 60 for students aged 11 to 26). It stays open until 8pm on Thursdays, closes Mondays, and has a lift.

Look for

  • Mineral Amnesia, Ioana Vreme Moser

Look for memory chips holding recordings of the artist's voice under a lamp whose light slowly erases them, until the sound turns to noise and stops.

  • Constant, Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner

A 40-minute essay film on the history of measurement, used here to follow a calculation error still embedded in the metre.

  • The four hemispheres on each floor

The installation on every floor is arranged around four half-spheres meant to recall halves of a globe or split atoms, with captions designed as geodetic survey marks.

  • Susan Schuppli's Arctic camera chip

A video essay that watches how a camera's image chip behaves in the conditions of an Arctic winter.
