Palazzo Citterio

An 18th-century palazzo on Via Brera, bought by the State in 1972 and opened in December 2024 as the modern and contemporary wing of the Grande Brera. It houses the Pinacoteca di Brera's 19th- and 20th-century holdings, including the Jesi and Vitali collections, with masterpieces from Pellizza da Volpedo's Fiumana to Boccioni, Modigliani, Morandi and Picasso. James Stirling's Brutalist underground hall hosts temporary exhibitions, and the palace opens onto a garden next to the Brera botanical garden.
