Italy's national museum of science and technology opened in 1953 in the former Olivetan monastery of San Vittore al Corpo, and is named after Leonardo da Vinci. Its Leonardo Galleries hold the world's most important historical collection of models of his machines. Beyond them, pavilions of rail, air and naval transport hold the Enrico Toti submarine, the training ship Ebe and the bridge of the Conte Biancamano liner, alongside space, energy, telecommunications and computing collections.
