The Lisbon home of businessman and collector António de Medeiros e Almeida (1895-1986), left to the nation as a house-museum through the foundation he created in 1972. The untouched Old Wing preserves the couple's rooms, while the New Wing, built in the early 1970s over the garden, shows some 2,000 objects across 27 galleries. Highlights include a 17th-century night clock by Edward East once owned by Catherine of Braganza, an early Ming ewer bearing the arms of King Manuel I, eight landscapes by Jan van Goyen, and Breguet pocket watches.
