Opened in 2006 on the Spree opposite Berlin Cathedral, the DDR Museum tells the story of daily life in the German Democratic Republic through interactive exhibits you are encouraged to touch. Its 1,000 m² exhibition covers school, work, holidays, shopping, ideology, the Wall and the Stasi, with highlights including a Trabant P601 driving simulation and a fully furnished WBS 70 tower-block flat. All texts are in German and English.
