Created by Joan Miró himself and opened in 1975, the Fundació occupies a white, light-filled building on Montjuïc designed by his friend, the architect Josep Lluís Sert. The collection presentation Joan Miró. Circles (2026–2028) sets more than 100 of Miró's works in dialogue with Sert's architecture and the newly opened Cypress Garden. Temporary exhibitions, the Espai 13 programme for emerging artists and the Joan Miró Prize keep a strong contemporary line running alongside.
