IA&A at Hillyer is the Washington gallery of International Arts & Artists, housed in an 1850s livery stable tucked down a cul-de-sac behind The Phillips Collection. It is a non-commercial space: exhibitions are chosen from an annual open call reviewed by a committee of local artists and curators, and roughly 30 to 35 artists show here each year. Three solo or curated exhibitions rotate every month, opening together on the first Friday, alongside artist talks, workshops, poetry readings and live music. Admission is free with a suggested $10 donation.
