Kunst Haus Wien – Museum Hundertwasser

Friedensreich Hundertwasser rebuilt the former Thonet bentwood furniture factory in Vienna's Weißgerber quarter between 1989 and 1991, giving it undulating floors, a chequered facade and plants growing from the building. Its lower two floors hold the world's only permanent exhibition of Hundertwasser's work. The upper floors host temporary exhibitions of international contemporary art on ecology and the relationship between people and nature, and the museum calls itself Austria's first Green Museum.
