Seat of a lay confraternity founded in 1478 and still active today, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco preserves more than sixty paintings by Tintoretto, made between 1564 and 1588, in their original setting. The Sala dell'Albergo holds his monumental Crucifixion, while the upper Chapter Room and the ground-floor hall unfold Old and New Testament cycles. Works by Titian, Tiepolo and Giorgione's circle, Francesco Pianta's carved wainscoting and a treasury of liturgical objects complete the visit.
