Opened in 2012 as the Ryerson Image Centre and renamed in 2022, The Image Centre is Toronto Metropolitan University's gallery and research centre dedicated to photography and related media. Its three public galleries, a Student Gallery and the Salah J. Bachir New Media Wall host changing exhibitions, housed in a converted warehouse remodelled by Diamond and Schmitt Architects. The collection includes the Black Star Collection of some 292,000 press photographs and the Berenice Abbott archive. Admission is free.
