Opened in 2014, the Aga Khan Museum is North America's first museum dedicated to the arts of Muslim civilizations. Its collection of over 1,000 objects, founded by Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan, spans the 9th to 21st centuries, from folios of the Blue Qur'an to paintings from Shah Tahmasp's Shahnameh. The light-filled building by Pritzker laureate Fumihiko Maki shares a landscaped park with the Ismaili Centre by Charles Correa, and hosts contemporary exhibitions, performances and talks.
