Singapore Art Museum (SAM) is the country's contemporary art institution, focused on art from Singapore, Southeast Asia and beyond since the 2010s. Founded in 1996 in a restored 19th-century mission school on Bras Basah Road, SAM relocated in January 2022 to Tanjong Pagar Distripark while that heritage building undergoes redevelopment (now not due to reopen as a SAM venue; SAM will remain at Tanjong Pagar as its permanent home, with a fifth gallery planned there). The museum runs a rotating programme of contemporary exhibitions, a dedicated learning gallery, and public art commissions across the surrounding Central Business District.
