MMCA Seoul is the flagship branch of Korea's National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, opened in 2013 on the former site of the Capital Garrison Command in the Sogyeok-dong district beside Gyeongbokgung Palace. Its low-rise complex blends renovated historic buildings with contemporary galleries and courtyards, and it serves as the museum's main venue for large-scale contemporary art exhibitions, media art, performance, and the Korea Artist Prize.
