The rapper Oli (Bigflo & Oli) stages his inner museum: about a hundred works and new installations, laid out as a coming-of-age journey with sound as the thread.
Preview: written before the show opened
You go in through a cave. That's the entrance Oli, of the Toulouse rap duo Bigflo & Oli, has built for his imaginary museum, which drew over 112,000 people in Toulouse before coming here.
The idea is André Malraux's (he died 50 years ago this year): a museum as the portrait of one mind. Here that is about a hundred works over 1,300 m² and three levels of Galerie 7, mixing contemporary art with sport, cinema, fashion and graffiti. The rooms follow how a work gets made, from inspiration and doubt to the gaze of others, and a soundtrack of voices, archives and city noise carries you between them. Doubt gets a room of its own, in darkness, which is more space than most Paris flats can spare for anything.
Nobody has reviewed it yet. Booking opened on 26 October, and Sortir à Paris lists tickets at 22 euros. Enter by Square Jean Perrin. Open Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 to 19:30, Fridays until 22:00.
The cave entrance
The route starts in an entrance built as a cave, before the rooms laid out as the stages of making a work.
The room of doubt
A chamber plunged into darkness, with the installation running across the floor and up the walls.
A real recording studio
Hidden along the route is a working recording studio, part of a show whose thread is a soundtrack of voices, archives and music.
The last room
The show ends by turning the gaze from Oli to you, inviting you to take part in the story yourself.
Sortir à Paris lists children's tickets at 10 euros for ages 5 to 12 and 13 euros for ages 12 to 18.
