Museum Villa Stuck occupies the 1898 residence and studio that Symbolist painter Franz von Stuck built for himself in Munich's Bogenhausen district, its restrained neoclassical facade opening onto opulent Art Nouveau interiors. Since becoming a museum in 1992 it has shown Stuck's own paintings and sculpture alongside historic period rooms and a rotating program of contemporary art. A €13.5m technical renovation was completed in phases, with the historic villa reopening in October 2025 and the museum fully reopening on 14 May 2026, including a new café and refreshed galleries.
