Opened in 2020, Museo Kaluz shows the Colección Kaluz assembled by businessman Antonio del Valle Ruiz: figurative Mexican art spanning landscape, still life, portraiture and genre painting, plus one of Latin America's largest holdings of work by Spanish Civil War exiles. It occupies the former Hospedería de Santo Tomás de Villanueva, completed in 1780 and later the Hotel de Cortés, at the corner of Paseo de la Reforma and Avenida Hidalgo. A stone mural by Vicente Rojo wraps the Reforma façade, and the rooftop terrace doubles as an 'urban observatory' over the historic centre.
