Museo del Romanticismo occupies an 18th-century Madrid townhouse assembled as a house-museum by the Marquis of Vega-Inclán, who opened it in 1924 to evoke the domestic world of Spanish Romanticism (roughly 1808-1860). Its period rooms are furnished with paintings, furniture, decorative arts, photographs and miniatures, including works by Francisco de Goya, Leonardo Alenza and Federico de Madrazo. It regularly stages temporary exhibitions alongside its permanent collection.
