MUDE – Museu do Design

MUDE is Lisbon City Council's design museum, housed in the former headquarters of the Banco Nacional Ultramarino on Rua Augusta, which reopened on 25 July 2024 after a major renovation. Its long-term exhibition "What are things for?" reads the history of design from 1900 to 2020, placing Portuguese design in context alongside international fashion and product icons. Temporary shows cover graphic design, emerging designers and contemporary jewellery, and a green roof terrace on the sixth floor looks out over the Baixa.
