Casa Milà, nicknamed La Pedrera ("the stone quarry"), was the last private residence Antoni Gaudí designed, built between 1906 and 1912 on Passeig de Gràcia and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors walk through its painted courtyards, a period apartment recreating bourgeois life in 1911, the Gaudí exhibition under the attic's 270 brick arches, and the rooftop of trencadís-clad chimneys and ventilation towers. The Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera also stages major temporary art exhibitions in the former Milà family apartment on the main floor.
