KBr is Fundación MAPFRE's photography centre in Barcelona, opened in 2020 at the base of the Torre Mapfre beside the Olympic Port. Named after potassium bromide, a salt used in analogue film development, it stages around six exhibitions a year across two halls, pairing retrospectives of major international photographers with Catalan archives and KBr Flama, an annual showcase of emerging photographers from Barcelona's schools. The centre also has a bookshop, an education area and an auditorium for talks and workshops.
