FAQ

How long is the audio guide?
30 to 60 minutes depending on how deep you go and how many questions you ask. The Pantheon is one room, so the tour is built for lingering rather than walking a route.
Where do I start?
Just inside the front door, looking up at the oculus. The guide takes you through the dome, the floor, the chapels, Raphael's tomb, and the royal tombs in roughly the order most visitors naturally walk. You can jump around if you want; it knows where you are.
Do I need wifi?
Yes. The guide adapts to your questions in real time, so it needs a connection. Indoor wifi at the Pantheon is patchy. Mobile data over an EU SIM works fine, and most travelers use that. If you're on a foreign roaming plan, set everything up while you're still on hotel wifi before you head out.
Is the museum entry included?
No. The 5-euro Pantheon entry ticket is separate, paid at the on-site kiosk (card only) or pre-booked on museiitaliani.it (the Italian Ministry of Culture's official portal). The Musa guide is a separate 4-euro purchase that runs on your phone alongside your visit. Total cost: 9 euros, which is less than most third-party 'skip the line + audio' bundles.
Should I pre-book the entry ticket?
For most visitors, no. Pre-booking does not guarantee a short queue. Pre-booked ticket holders queue in a separate lane that can also be 20 to 45 minutes during peak hours. The thing that actually controls your wait is the time of day, not the ticket type. Off-peak (early morning, late afternoon, or shoulder season) the on-site kiosk queue is usually a couple of minutes; just walk up and pay 5 euros at the door. The only time pre-booking helps is summer midday, and even then it's a hedge, not a guarantee. If you do book, use museiitaliani.it directly. Never pay 10 to 15 euros for a third-party bundle.
