iThe Landesmuseum Zürich opened in 1898 in a historicist building at Museumstrasse 2, next to Hauptbahnhof and Platzspitz park. Its permanent exhibition History of Switzerland follows the country from prehistory to the present, and a family exhibition, A magic carpet ride through history, is aimed at children from four. Changing shows, a graphic art collection and a library complete the offer.

How wars shaped Switzerland from the late Middle Ages to today: national myths, civil wars, mercenary service, the arms industry and neutrality.
Video installation with eleven interviews about sex work in Switzerland. Closed 2 Nov 2026 to 11 Jan 2027 for Christmas & Cribs.

Posters, logos and stamps from the museum's graphic art collection show how design shapes desire and identity, with hands-on design stations.
