Established in 1930 in a converted 1920s concert pavilion on Manly Cove, MAG&M is the oldest metropolitan regional gallery in NSW. It holds a 100-year-old collection of over 5,000 objects spanning Australian ceramics, watercolours and paintings alongside more than 1,200 items of swimwear and beach ephemera. The gallery was shaped early on by local artist and teacher Antonio Dattilo-Rubbo, and today runs a rotating program of contemporary exhibitions beside its permanent beach-culture holdings.

Kate Bohunnis, Anne Ferran, Maddison Gibbs and Ebony Russell explore femininity, inheritance and place, starting from the colonial naming of Manly.

Survey of Northern Beaches painter Michael Muir's past decade, tracing his vibrant, memory-laced landscapes through colour, form and composition.

MAG&M's founding collection of works by Antonio Dattilo-Rubbo (1870-1955), the Manly artist and teacher who mentored early Australian modernists.
