Carriageworks occupies the former Eveleigh Carriage Workshops, a heritage-listed 19th-century railway building in inner Sydney, adaptively reused and opened as an arts centre in 2007. It presents contemporary visual art, performance, dance and design across its industrial-era bays, alongside a weekly farmers market. Major immersive and touring exhibitions rotate through Bay 17 and other spaces.
