Amorepacific Museum of Art (APMA) grew from the personal collection of Amorepacific founder Suh Sung-whan, who gathered ceramics, craftworks and textiles tied to women, cosmetics and Korean tea culture. Opened as Pacific Museum in 1979 and renamed in 2009, it moved in 2018 into a subterranean gallery beneath Amorepacific's Yongsan headquarters, a minimalist white cube designed by Pritzker laureate David Chipperfield. Today the museum runs a rotating programme spanning Korean antiquities and international contemporary art, alongside talks, publications and residencies for young artists and researchers.
