Housed in the former Baroque church of St. Mary Magdalene on Karmelitská street, the Czech Museum of Music is a department of the National Museum dedicated to musical instruments, scores and documents tracing Czech musical history. Its long-term exhibition "Man – Instrument – Music" displays instruments by family (keyboard, string, wind), folk and mechanical instruments, and rarities such as a piano played by Mozart during his 1787 Prague visit. Note: the museum is closed to the public from 29 June to 31 December 2026 for reconstruction of the building's dome lantern.
