MUCA (Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art) is a privately run museum in Munich's Altstadt dedicated to urban and contemporary art, housed in a former municipal electricity substation whose facade was designed by street artist Stohead. Its permanent collection spans more than 1,200 works built up over 25+ years, including pieces by Banksy, Keith Haring, Shepard Fairey, JR and Yayoi Kusama. An adjacent former WWII air-raid bunker serves as an additional exhibition space for large-scale and site-specific shows. Rotating special exhibitions run alongside the permanent collection display, "UNVEILING", in the museum's basement galleries.
