Leon Trotsky and Natalia Sedova lived in this walled Coyoacán residence from April 1939 until his assassination here in August 1940. Opened as a museum in 1990, it preserves his study, bedroom and kitchen with original furniture and belongings, the bullet-marked walls and guard towers, and the garden where the couple's ashes are buried. It is also home to the Instituto del Derecho de Asilo, with temporary exhibition halls, an auditorium and a library.
