Museu Bordalo Pinheiro

Opened in 1916 by collector Cruz Magalhães in a house built for the purpose on Campo Grande, this municipal museum is devoted to Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro (1846-1905): cartoonist, illustrator, newspaper founder and ceramist. It holds the most important collection of his Caldas da Rainha faience, some 1,000 pieces, alongside more than 2,600 original drawings. A new long-term exhibition opened in January 2026, and a separate gallery hosts temporary shows on humour, caricature and contemporary art.
