iSOMPO Museum of Art occupies a striking curved, steel-plated building at the base of the Sompo Japan headquarters tower in Nishi-Shinjuku. Its collection grew from a 1978 bequest of works by Japanese oil painter Seiji Togo and today numbers roughly 640 pieces, anchored by Vincent van Gogh's "Sunflowers" (1888), acquired at a record-breaking 1987 Christie's auction. The museum also holds works by Gauguin, Cézanne, Renoir and Grandma Moses, and mounts a rotating program of major loan exhibitions.

Some 90 works by the French Fauvist, tracing his career and celebrated waterside scenes and Pont-Neuf series, on loan from major French museums.

About 100 paintings by Togo Seiji, from early avant-garde works to late large oils, with around 100 pieces of his commercial design for the museum's 50th year.
The 15th edition of the museum's open contemporary painting competition, with an Audience Award and a 3rd-floor display of the previous winners' new work.
