iMuseum of Contemporary Art Tokyo
Opened in 1995 in Kiba Park, the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT) is one of Japan's largest venues dedicated to postwar and contemporary art, with roughly 33,000 square meters of floor space. Its permanent MOT Collection of around 5,700 works spans Japanese and international art since 1945, including strong holdings of Pop Art, and is shown in rotating thematic selections alongside major loan exhibitions. The museum also hosts the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo Annual, a recurring showcase for emerging artists across visual, performing and experimental art forms.
