Science Centre Singapore has promoted public science and technology education since opening in December 1977, spun off from the National Museum of Singapore. Its galleries hold over 850 interactive exhibits spanning physics, biology, energy, earth science and emerging technology, alongside the OMNIMAX Omni-Theatre and an outdoor Kinetic Garden. A new, larger Science Centre is under construction nearby in the Jurong Lake District, targeted to open around 2027; the current Jurong East building continues normal operations until then.</description>
